This division starts with Jovan. A former nationally ranked ping pong player, Jovan has taken the spins and angles and translated that to the court. He recently competed in the 4.5 Nationals, frankly, you aren’t going to play anyone in the NW who has more match play. Years ago we played a 4 hour match, now Jovan’s large spins and angles keep one from playing that long. Try matching him. It’s possible, but a little bit Nadalish, not many free ones from the lefty.

What about Boyd? His game brought him to glory in the 2nd season of the Golden Ball due to his offense, power, net game. When he is “on” his game allows him to win 3 games in a row if you blink. Like 3 of us, he had an extended break during the pandemic not playing last year, but THE GOLDEN BALL IS NOT WON in MAY! Let’s see where he is early August. Tri is coming on too! Remember, Tri took out everyone a few years ago at a deep mini-tournament, training on the USTA team tour like many of us, he is looking sharp with his huge forehand. Next, Josh has improved his game immensely. The hugely anticipated matchup between him and Tri will shape the division. Coach Josh is constantly tinkering and coaching up others and his own game…..

Tom is back playing ok, finally getting back into match shape. How much match shape to battle the top players? We will see! David! The young man from San Diego and Great Britain is in excellent condition and keeps it in play for a long time. Look for his game to continue to improve on our tour.
